About the Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at New York University Abu Dhabi
The CQTS at New York University Abu Dhabi focuses on robust quantum computation by integrating expertise across Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics.
Under the leadership of Prof. Hisham Sati, CQTS is dedicated to addressing challenges from (topological) quantum computing and quantum machine learning to quantum sensing, with activities including seminars, international conferences, and the annual Quantum Hackathon. The center also established SpinQ, the first quantum educational system in the UAE.
The CQTS activities include weekly seminars and multiple annual international conferences focusing on various aspects of quantum computing. We are also deeply committed to quantum education and outreach. The first quantum educational system, SpinQ, in the UAE, was established through CQTS, complementing our research in the same technology (NV in diamond). Our annual Quantum Hackathon, this year scheduled for April 25-28, attracts talented students from the UAE and around the world. They are mentored by world experts in quantum computing, with support from leading establishments like Amazon Web Services (AWS), The Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA), XANADU, SANDBOX, qBraid, and many others. This event has been a tremendous success, and we anticipate this year’s version to be equally exciting and well-received.
